How Common is Radon in Homes?

Radon Testing? Is this really necessary? What is radon and how does it affect us? We answer these questions and many more about radon and what Buyers and Sellers need to know about radon when purchasing a property. What are the different scenarios involving the Buyer and Seller after radon testing is completed? Is radon the same throughout the entire United States? Is Radon Common in Your Area?

Radon is a cancer-causing natural radioactive gas that you can’t see, smell or taste. It comes in through your basement and it doesn’t matter if you live on a slab or not. It can still enter your home. In this video we will show you Radon Maps of the United States, Nebraska and South Dakota. We will explain the meaning of Zones 1, 2 and 3.

Testing is the Only Way to determine if radon is present. What are the acceptable levels of radon? We cover that too. We do our best to inform you on what radon is and how it relates to the purchase of your next home. Much of our information in this video we obtained from the site: epa.gov/radon
